“We use the Tiny Tablet for music and watching music videos. This allows us to follow the dance moves and get residents moving; we also use this with golden carers and use it for armchair travel – allowing us to watch the videos that link with that country.
We also use this as an interactive feature within the lounge, and residents follow the fish on the touch screen,
Residents also play games such as find the word find the game as a group which gets them all to interact.
We have had a resident who has FND – she loses her speech at times due to her FND, by playing the word finding game and playing with others with her saying words out loud, encourages her speech to come back sooner on occasions which have been beneficial to her.
Another lady who likes to watch the fish on the screen saver (who has dementia) talks about her having fish and her memories of going fishing with her father.”
