Google Earth: Must have app for your interactive table
Google Earth… My personal favourite activity to do with a resident and it can be done with residents of all abilities. Take your residents on a virtual tour of anywhere in the world, and listen to their stories and memories come flooding out.
It’s particularly good at this time, while everyone has been cooped up in some cases for months.
- Where they grew up
- Where they got married
- Where their family live
- Their favourite places to go on holiday
- Where they worked
- Their favourite pub
- Favourite sports grounds
The list is endless. If your residents have later stages dementia, you might be surprised to some of the reactions you’ll get if you can get some places of interest from the family members.
